Why I'm Running
I was raised on the North Shore, and thus I will always want to continue living in this beautiful community. I love being able to find quality cafes where I can enjoy a nice cup of coffee in Lower Lonsdale. I love that I can pick and choose a diverse array of restaurants all around Lonsdale Ave. I love that I can just go down to the Lonsdale Quay to find a quaint place to shop. From the plethora of shops and restaurants, abundant amount of green-space and parks to the diversity of different areas to visit makes this the perfect community to live in.
What I have noticed in the past few years is the ability to feasibly live on the North Shore has moved towards being unattainable. Housing prices and rental prices are unaffordable for most working adults who wish to live on the North Shore, hence why many of us look out of the City to find a place to live. Traffic gridlock is a constant pain which forces many, for those that can’t live on the North Shore but choose to work here, to decide if the cost of travel is enough for the benefit of the work. As a young person, the idea of living on the North Shore seems to be stretched farther and farther away from our reach to continue living in the community where I grew up.
I believe it is time to vote for those who understand both our current communities’ needs but can also envision and see what our future communities’ needs will be. To have more voices that are willing to always look at the options on how to make our city better, and to not be happy with just good enough. To have more voices constantly ask the question is what we have bold enough. To have more voices that emphasize our Community’s future.
I want to be that voice for our community. A voice that doesn’t talk down to you but a voice that talks with you. A voice that listens, learns, and understands our current issues and uses all available information to make informed decisions that consider the present and the future.
That’s why I’m running!

And I get it! Solving complex issues such as housing and transportation is a cycle of solving one problem only to find that there are ten more problems that need to be solved after we resolved the first problem. That we always need to continually plan, build and solve the issues in way that grows our communities’ future.
That’s why I’m running!
